Eating with Chopsticks

I had made a simple meal of fishsticks, biscuits, and broccoli for dinner on a Tuesday night when Mike was at Jujitsu. While I was preparing it the children watched Food Network. A program which showed chopsticks was on. The children then asked if they could use chopsticks for dinner. I said, "Sure." I gave each of the children a pair since Josanna would not be left out. They all were doing fine except little Josie, which I had anticipated. She wouldn't let me help her, though. She was determined to do it herself. After several minutes she was yet to get a bite of food all the way to her mouth. I told the children we would need to put the chopsticks away so that Josie could eat. But, Josanna had a different plan. She refused to give up. I consented and let her continue to try. (I didn't watch because it was hard to see the food get so close to her mouth then fall.) After several more minutes she exclaimed, "I did it!" after she ate her piece of broccoli. She also managed to pick up fishsticks also. I was quite pleased with her efforts. How's that for determination? The kids enjoyed the meal and who knew that fishsticks were chopstick fare?
