Sneak Peek at Basement

Tammy, this is mostly for you. I know you have wanted pics. I haven't got my Valentines pics uploaded to my computer yet, so in the meantime I thought I would blog some basement instead. Above you see Josie looking out of her playhouse area. We put her kitchen stuff and a small table from Ikea in there. She loves it. It is across from my craft room.

These two pictures show the powder room off of the main living area. It's painted a rich chocolate brown (Lumberjack, to be exact). I love the light fixture, rounded sink and furniture-style cabinet, vinyl wood floor and cool "water pump" faucet.

Joshua's Room

Josh was so excited to have "Espionage" blue on his wall (it means spy, and that is cool.) We have gotten a BYU logo poster since this pick was taken. The colors match great. He loves looking at and memorizing maps. He has a place for his things now; CD's, books, balls, writing pads, Nintendo DS games, Pokemon cards, legos, and his hermit crabs! Love my guy!

Josie's Room

Here are a few shots from Josie's room. Her very own space to enjoy. As you saw above, Josh has his space downstairs now. Josanna just loves looking at her books. She is so content in her play, whether upstairs or downstairs, in her room or at the dining table. (As I type this she is playing with playdough at the table.) She is my BFF during the day sharing her little observations with me and I share my busy life with her. She can stay three forever if she wants!

Basketball Shots

Josh, and five other neighbor boys are playing basketball together. It has been so fun to watch Josh on the court with his friends.

Last week Josh made two baskets and was beaming ear to ear! His real strength is defense, though. They use colored arm bands to teach them how to guard man to man. Josh is always right on his man. Way to go, buddy!

Hitting pins and Ringing in the New Year

The bowling alley in Afton has been remodeled and updated. It was a great atmosphere on New Year's Eve. Josie and Josh loved using the dinosaur ball ramp and the automatic bumbers.

Here is this year's traditional New Year's Eve shot with the kids and their homemade signs. I love these pics every year!

Good Eats in Star Valley

We love going to our favorite restaurant in Afton, Rocky Mountain Seafood. Everything is made fresh. We watched the owner chop the cabbage for our coleslaw, and cut the salmon and tuna for deep frying behind the counter. The place is hopping with people. I think I need to tell Guy Fieri to hit this joint for one of his "money road trips" on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
I had their yummy clam chowder (butter melted on top) with a coconut shrimp basket. So good.

Another yummy treat: Homemade rolls for New Year's Eve dinner. Madelyn and Alyssa helped roll them out and shape them.

Glorious Snow in Afton

Josie and Alyssa out in the fluffy white stuff. Josie loved being pulled around in the snow on the sled. The kids also loved finding icicles.

Makeover fun for Aly

Alyssa went to a makeover birthday party in December and came home about 4 years older it seemed! She loved the salon and all the pampering. She had a great time---wished I could've snuck in for a little pedicure, too!
